So, I got back late last night, with an ear and sinus infection, just to keep things interesting. Picked up Charlie-boy, and crashed hard. Up early today, three loads of laundry already, a trip to OSH and Home Depot to buy another large plastic tub, a new window shade and new blinds for one window. The wonderdog decided that chewing on the blinds was a good idea when I first brought him home. He was actually climbing somehow onto the dresser, and then somehow figured metal was a good replacement for a bone.
Took down the old ones, put up the new ones, and still have the packing part to figure out. Everything else should be okay, but I worry about everything being done. Sitting here in front of the computer is probably not the most productive, but I needed a rest.
I'm charging my new, 32GB, Creative Zen mp3 player right now. 32 gigabytes people! That holds every single album I own, plus all the extra bits I've downloaded. Plus, I can add my videos and photos if I want, and still have lots of room left. I'm so spoiled now. A few years ago, my disk player was the thing; I thought it was so great. Before that, my Walkman. "Wow," I thought,"I can listen to whatever I want!" And now? I'm not satisfied unless I have my entire collection available to me.
And, if you noticed, it's still not an Ipod. I refuse to get one. I hate Itunes, and I hate the proprietary nature of that company. I've had Sansa Sandisks up to this point, so I haven't yet made up my mind about this Creative Zen thing yet, but it holds everything!
The two days at the beach this past weekend were sorely needed. The week in DC with the Fulbright teachers was great, but it was go, go, go. I pretended I was younger than I really was on Thursday night, and I think that's why I'm sick now. If I had come right back home, I would have just gotten all stressed out. Instead, for two days we just read, ate, napped, rode bikes, went to the beach, and chilled. Very nice. Kind of an enforced relaxation, since there was nothing I could do from there. It was the quietest weekend I think I've had in the past year.
Okay, I need to go take some more cough medicine, and pack some more things. Be well all.

While I have an ipod, I understand your disinterest. It always strikes me as really weird that people are slavish to Apple when, in actuality, they are just as evil and controlling as Microsoft.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the work!
