A Long Long Walk

Today, P. came over and we went on a walk. A very long, with a-stop-at-a pub-in-the-middle, walk. I was feeling kinda crummy last night, so I worried that I'd be coughing and feeling the same today, but maybe it's been walked out of my system.

It would be great if my cold just went away also, because I couldn't register at the local doctor's office yesterday (the surgery it's called). 1) Nobody can register on Monday. 2) Registrations are not done before 2 pm. And 3) I have no proof of my address here in England, and probably won't until I get a gas or electric bill. Which they only send out quarterly. I guess I can't get sick or hurt myself before then.

If you look really hard, you'll see some sheep. Really hard... I thought it would be a lovely Idyllic English countryside picture. I suppose it still is, just mostly countryside, rather than what was standing on it.

The path we took after walking through "Hilly Fields." It's called Forty Hall Park after... um... the big building called... um... Forty Hall.

What P called a swamp. I thought it was lovely.

Ta Da. This is Forty Hall.

This is a very very old tree in Enfield. P said it was Y's favorite tree and I should post a picture of it. So I did. This thing was huge.

Finally, the pub. My first one in England in over 20 years. We sat outside until a ninja wasp kept flying around my head and scaring me to death.
We got home and there were two notices that I'd missed packages. Rats. One is a bunch of school books for work, but the other is a portable clothing rail I bought from Amazon UK. I'm so bummed because both places where I can pick these things up are out of the way. Since I don't have a car, I'm going to have to ask someone to help me figure out how to get to these places.
That's all for now. I'm going to have a bit of a lie down.
